Rocket Mortgage Account Review

Despite reading many positive reviews about this company, I had an absolutely terrible experience with them. I had previously purchased a house through a local mortgage provider with no issues, but when I moved cross country and didn't have any local recommendations, I decided to give Rocket Mortgage a try.

However, it was a huge mistake. I am only two weeks away from closing, and I feel like I might as well have not even gone through their "prequalified approval," which they claimed was as good as having a check in hand. This turned out to be a total lie.

Now, they are making me revalidate all the information I've already provided, including paystubs, taxes, and employer letters. They keep adding more requirements and deadlines, and their incompetence is hindering the process. If I don't get everything done in time, my mortgage offer will expire, and I'll have to start over.

I strongly advise avoiding this company. It's astonishing to see the mix of good and bad experiences here, and it seems like the outcome depends on which representative you get assigned.

UPDATE: After an incredibly stressful amount of back and forth, I am finally closing. Some representatives were good, while others were terrible. In the end, the fees were not as bad as some had suggested, and I got an okay rate. However, I can't stress enough the importance of going with a local mortgage provider. These online mortgage companies have removed all the humanity from the process.

I strongly advise against selling your house through this company or letting a friend use their services. They will attempt to take thousands of dollars from you. For example, they requested nearly $11,000 for closing costs when it should have been only $6,500 (4% of $170,000). They continuously added costs to the closing, and it was a frustrating experience.

Please do not use this company. I highly recommend finding another real estate agent or company for your needs.
