If an applicant meets the prequalification criteria, they can proceed to a more detailed application process that includes a hard credit check and other verifications.

  5. Post-Approval. After being approved, new cardholders can choose from the available promotions offered by CareCredit.

Reasons for Rejection

  1. Low Credit Score. Applicants with a low credit score may be rejected as CareCredit requires a minimum credit score for approval. Maintaining a good credit score is crucial for loan and credit card approvals.

  2. High Debt-to-Income Ratio. If an applicant has a high level of debt compared to their income, it signals a risk to lenders, making them less likely to approve the application.

  3. Insufficient Income. Applicants who do not meet the minimum income requirements may be rejected. CareCredit assesses whether applicants have sufficient income to manage new credit obligations.

  4. Recent Negative Credit Events. Recent bankruptcies, foreclosures, or delinquent accounts can lead to an automatic rejection. These events indicate financial instability to lenders.

  5. Incomplete or Inaccurate Application. Providing incomplete or inaccurate information on the application can lead to rejection. It's important to ensure that all information is accurate and complete before submitting the application.

Cons
Opting for this financing was a regrettable choice. They lure you in with a low-interest introductory offer, only to trap you with exorbitant interest rates later on. Their customer service feels impersonal and robotic. Beware of the steep interest rates that kick in after the introductory period. It's best to consider this option only when you've exhausted all other alternatives.

Their customer service is subpar, and their communication is even worse. I maintained a low balance relative to my significantly high credit limit for 18 months. However, without any prior notice, they adjusted my limit to match my $400 balance when my credit score dropped by just 3 points. When my dog fell ill, and I needed to use the credit, I had to scramble to find funds from other sources to cover the expenses. CareCredit has been a colossal disappointment, engaging in questionable practices that border on resembling a scam company.

Cons
I've never encountered such an issue with any other credit card company before. I paid $300, and they hit me with a $250 interest charge. It feels like this company is running a scam, and it's genuinely disheartening. It almost seems as if they're operating like loan sharks, imposing astronomical interest rates even when the promotional period is still in effect.

I had the worst experience with their customer service. If possible, explore other alternatives.

Cons
Using this financing option turned out to be a regrettable decision. While they offer a low-interest introductory rate, it ultimately leads to exorbitant interest charges down the line. Their customer service is disappointingly robotic and unhelpful. Be cautious, as there's a significant interest trap waiting for you after the introductory period. It's best to consider this only if you've exhausted all other options.

Cons
I called to inquire about why my balance wasn't decreasing and why I was facing a looming 30% interest rate charge. I was informed that the payments I had been making towards my credit card were being allocated to different purchases. Surprisingly, only around $30 of each payment was being applied to the first transaction, which meant that the balance on that transaction was not reducing at all. The other two transactions were receiving the majority of my payments. When I discussed this issue with the associate, they were unhelpful in resolving the situation. I realized that I would essentially have to pay off the entire card, which amounted to $4,000 of debt used for my dog's medical expenses, in order to avoid interest on the first transaction that was set to expire in six months under the promotional balance terms. The associate's response was less than polite, essentially confirming that this was the necessary course of action.
This card's promotional balance and terms are misleading. I had assumed that the first transaction would be paid off first, followed by the others. However, I had received no prior indication of how payments would be allocated between the transactions, and it was not explained to me when I made the transactions.
Once I manage to pay off this substantial debt, at least I'll still have my dog. However, I have no intention of ever using this card again because of their deceptive practices. It's clear that they understand how to generate interest income from clients by manipulating the terms of their promotions.

This card is absolutely terrible! I paid off my balance, and they promptly closed my account, negatively impacting my credit score. Despite being a customer for years, they never increased my limit, showing absolutely no loyalty. I strongly recommend avoiding them.

Cons
My account was unexpectedly closed by them due to "inactivity," and I was never informed about it. I only discovered this when my credit score plummeted by over 100 points, leaving me unable to apply for anything. Their customer service proved to be unhelpful as well, as they claimed it was their policy not to notify customers about such closures.

Cons
I encountered an issue with two returned payments, one of which I still managed to make on time. When I tried to make another payment, I discovered that my account had been closed. Dealing with their customer service was a frustrating experience, as they provided little information and informed me that I would have to wait 7 to 10 business days for more details. The potential negative impact on your credit is not worth it with this company.

Cons
The customer service at this company is absolutely dreadful. They mishandle payment allocations, leading to continued interest charges on transactions that you believe you've paid off. When you call them for assistance, they don't have access to information about how your payments are allocated, rendering their support utterly ineffective.
