How to apply for a loan?
- Preapproval. While it's not needed, American Pacific suggests getting pre-approved so that you may close quickly on the house of your desires.
- Apply for a loan. Now that you've discovered the perfect property, it's time to show the mortgage lender that your pre-approval was warranted and that you can afford the mortgage payments. It is the stage where you'll need to pull out a lot of your paperwork.
- Determine which loan option suits your needs. One of the most critical options is selecting a mortgage from among the seven available options.
- Underwriting. It is the period when an underwriter verifies your income and gives you the go-ahead to proceed with the loan.
- Authorization of a Loan. They will grant your loan if all goes according to plan, but you must meet a few last requirements before closing the deal.
- Pay Off the Loan. The final documentation is signed, the loan funds are disbursed when closing, and you become a homeowner.
Requirements
Your credit score and your history of making mortgage payments are probably the most critical elements that American Pacific considers when deciding whether or not to approve your application. Even while the lender undoubtedly favors applicants with a FICO score of 700 or above, the fact is that anyone who has attained the minimum score criterion of 600 will most likely be eligible for one of the lender's home loans. American Pacific also requires your debt-to-income (DTI) ratio to be lower than 43%.
Application details
Gather your paperwork well in advance of filling out the loan application. Meeting with a loan officer confirms that you meet the financial requirements for the loan you seek. To accomplish this, the loan officer will ask for proof of your income and assets, such as the following:
- Most recent pay stubs
- Any tax returns or W-2s from the last two years
- Tax returns
- Bank statements
- Additional paperwork may be requested, such as gift letters, receipts, and bank slips. Not all loans require an explanation of where the money is going, but some do.
