About TD Rewards Visa Card

A TD Rewards Visa Card is a credit card offering the benefits of the TD Rewards Program and providing discounts from TD partners. 

With special offers in place, new TD Rewards Visa Card applicants can get a promotional interest rate on purchases for a limited time and earn extra TD reward points.

TD Rewards Visa Card features

A TD Rewards Visa Card features a 19.99% interest rate on purchases and a 22.99% interest rate on cash advances. With occasional special offers, you can get a lower interest rate on purchases. 

There is no annual fee for a TD Rewards Visa Card, and issuance of up to three additional cards is free of charge as well.

The minimum credit limit for a TD Rewards Visa Card is $500.

When paying with your TD Rewards Visa Card for purchases at merchants qualified by Visa as "grocery," "restaurant," “fast food," or "recurring payments” up to the $5,000 spending threshold, you will earn 2 TD Rewards points for every $1 spent. Once you reach the $5,000 spending threshold, you will continue earning TD rewards regularly (1 TD Rewards point for every $1 spent).

When paying with your TD Rewards Visa Card for travel purchases made through, you will earn 3 TD Rewards points for every $1 spent. 

For every $1 spent on other eligible purchases, you will earn 1 TD Rewards point.

If you link your TD Rewards Visa Card to your Starbucks rewards account, you can earn 50% more TD Rewards points when paying at Starbucks locations.

Upon getting approval, new TD Rewards Visa Card applicants can get extra TD reward points with a special offer.

There are several ways to redeem your TD Rewards points:

  • Booking travels through Expedia For TD

  • Making purchases at 

  • Paying down your credit card account balance

  • Buying merchandise and gift cards through

Along with reward-earning opportunities, a TD Rewards Visa Card provides a range of benefits from TD partners:

  • An annual discount on a Priority Pass membership providing access to VIP airport lounges worldwide

  • Saving 5-10% off the base rates on car rentals at participating Avis and Budget locations in Canada and the U.S.

  • Earning 50% more Stars at Starbucks locations

  • An opportunity to purchase TD Auto Club Membership and get 24/7 access to emergency roadside assistance services 

A TD Rewards Visa Card is eligible for TD Payment Plans, which means you can break down your purchases of $100 and more into manageable monthly payments with a lower fee and zero interest. The fees for TD Payment Plans vary based on a chosen term:

  • 4% for a 6-month plan

  • 6% for a 12-month plan

  • 8% for an 18-month plan

Insurance coverages included in a TD Rewards Visa Card are purchase security and extended warranty protection. With purchase security insurance, you get 90-day repair, replacement, or reimbursement coverage for lost, stolen, or damaged items purchased with your TD Rewards Visa Card. With the extended warranty protection, you get an extension to the original manufacturer’s warranty for items purchased with your TD Rewards Visa Card.

How to apply for a TD Rewards Visa Card

You can apply for a TD Rewards Visa Card online, by phone, or at a TD branch near you. 

To apply online, click the “Apply online” button on the credit card description page. If you are a TD client already, sign in using your EasyWeb online banking credentials. If you are new to TD, click the “Apply Online” button and fill out the application form with the following details:

  • Your province of residence

  • Your personal information (including your first name, middle name, last name, title, and date of birth)

  • Your social insurance number

  • Your phone number

  • Your email

  • Your address

  • Your employment details (including your employment status, employer’s name, industry, occupation, work phone number, and the date since when you’ve been employed)

  • Your gross annual personal income

  • Other household income

  • Your residential status (own, rent, live with parents, or board)

  • Your housing expenses (monthly mortgage payment, property tax, gas/electricity cost, condo fee, and rent)

  • The credit limit you need

  • Whether you need to register additional cardholders

  • Whether you want to enroll in the TD Credit Card Payment Protection Plan

Once you do, review the terms and conditions and agree to them to complete the application.

Applying for a TD Rewards Visa Card involves no minimum annual income requirements.

Can I cover travel-related expenses with TD Rewards points?You can redeem your TD Rewards points not only towards travel but also towards taxes, golf fees, resort excursions, and other travel-related expenses.
What do I need to set up a TD Payment Plan?To get the advantage of TD Payment Plans, you must be a primary cardholder of an eligible TD credit card with EasyWeb online banking access. Make sure your account is in good standing and the purchase amount is at least $100.
Does a TD Rewards Visa Card provide zero liability protection?Just like any other TD Visa card, a TD Rewards Visa Card features zero liability protection from Visa, which means you won’t be liable for any unauthorized transactions made with your card.
