About RBC Visa Platinum

An RBC Visa Platinum is a credit card with up to a $50,000 credit limit and premium insurance coverage, all for a zero annual fee. However, being an affordable credit solution, this card doesn’t provide cash back and reward-earning opportunities.

RBC Visa Platinum card features

An RBC Visa Platinum credit card features an interest rate of 19.99% on purchases and 22.99% (21.99% for Quebec residents) — on cash advances, with up to a $50,000 credit limit. There is no annual fee for this credit card, and issuing an additional card is free as well.

The insurance coverage policies included in an RBC Visa Platinum credit card are purchase security and extended warranty protection, auto rental collisions or loss damage insurance, and travel accident insurance.

RBC’s partner integrations provide the following benefits for RBC Visa Platinum cardholders:

  • Saving $0.03 on fuel purchases at Petro-Canada

  • Earning 20% more Petro-Points at Petro-Canada than you normally earn

  • Earning 50 Be Well points for every $1 spent at Rexall pharmacies

  • Getting three months of free delivery for orders over $15 with a complementary DashPass subscription from the DoorDash food delivery service

Whenever you need, you can temporarily lock your RBC Visa Platinum credit card through the RBC Mobile app.

How to apply for an RBC Visa Platinum credit card

Does an RBC Visa Platinum credit card provide an interest-free grace period?

With an RBC Visa Platinum credit card, you can count on at least a 21-day interest-free grace period, provided that you pay off your balance by the payment date specified in your statement.

For cash advances, there is no interest-free period.

What happens if I don’t make a minimum payment on time?

If you fail to make a minimum payment with your RBC Visa Platinum credit card at least two times within any 12-month period, your interest rates will grow — to 24.99% on purchases and 27.99% (26.99% for Quebec residents) — on cash advances.

To get back to your regular interest rates, you will need to make payments on time for 12 consecutive months thereafter.

How do I find my credit card payment due date?

You can find your RBC Visa Platinum credit card payment due date on your paper monthly account statement or the credit card account details page (either through your RBC Online Banking or the RBC Mobile app).
