About Triangle Mastercard
Triangle Mastercard is a no-annual-fee credit card issued by Canadian Tire Bank, the financial services subsidiary of Canadian Tire Corporation, Limited. The applicable regular annual rate with Triangle Mastercard is subject to credit approval and may range from 19.99% to 27.99%.
With the Triangle Rewards Program featured by this credit card, you can earn cash back in electronic Canadian Tire Money (also known as CT Money or eCTM) on the pre-tax amount of your everyday purchases and redeem it at Canadian Tire's family of stores. If you shop at Canadian Tire and its other brands frequently, Triangle Mastercard might be a good credit card option for you.
Canadian Tire Bank offers two no-annual-fee options for Triangle Mastercard — a Triangle Mastercard and Triangle World Elite Mastercard card. The second one provides higher CT Money earning rates on your everyday spending and more insurance coverages included but involves minimum annual household income requirements.

Triangle Mastercard features
The applicable regular annual rate with Triangle Mastercard credit cards by Canadian Tire Bank is subject to credit evaluation. If approved for lower rates, you will get a 19.99% annual interest rate on regular charges to your account (excluding cash transactions and related fees) and a 22.99% annual interest rate on cash transactions and related fees. If not approved for lower rates based on credit evaluation, you can expect the following annual interest rates: 25.99% on regular charges (excluding cash transactions and related fees) and 27.99% on cash transactions and related fees. A higher credit score increases your chances of getting lower annual interest rates on an approved credit card, thereby lowering your borrowing costs for purchases bearing interest.
Both credit cards — Triangle Mastercard and Triangle World Elite Mastercard involve a zero annual fee.
Once you get an approved credit card, you can start shopping with it right away. When making qualifying purchases of $150 or more at participating stores, you can count on no-fee no-interest financing also known as “Equal payments, no interest” financing (with gift cards excluded). Participating stores include Canadian Tire, Sport Chek, Mark’s, L’Équipeur, Atmosphere, Party City, Pro Hockey Life, Sports Rousseau, Hockey Experts, L’Entrepôt du Hockey, and participating Sports Experts stores. When requesting “Equal payments, no interest” financing, you convert your purchases of $150 or more (gift cards excluded) made with your Triangle credit card into a 24-month equal payments plan. Each month, you will have to repay your equal payments plan installments by the due date of each installment. Interest doesn't accrue during the period of your equal payments plan, bringing your borrowing costs down to zero. Failure to repay your equal payments plan installments by the due date or any event of default (other than a payment default) will result in interest accrued on that amount at the applicable regular annual rate. Setting up an equal payments plan involves no administration fee charged. Applying for an equal payments plan is subject to credit approval.
As for cash transactions and related fees, Canadian Tire credit cards involve:
-
A cash advance fee of $4
-
A foreign exchange conversion fee equal to the current Mastercard conversion rate plus 2.5% of the transaction (applies when converting transactions made in a foreign currency to a Canadian currency)
-
A dishonored payment fee of $25
-
Credit balance administration fee equal to the lesser of $2 or the amount of your credit balance, charged on the last day of a billing period
By cash transactions, Canadian Tire Bank understands cash advances, balance transfers, convenience cheques, money transfers, purchases of travelers' cheques, and gambling transactions.
The amount of minimum payment with Triangle Mastercard may differ based on your individual financial situation. The minimum payment equals the sum of the following:
-
Interest and fees shown on your statement plus $10 or 5% of the New Balance, excluding amounts on special payment plans, whichever is greater
-
Any balance over your credit limit
-
Any amounts past due not included in the balance over your credit limit
-
The amount of any equal payments plan instalments then due
If your credit balance is below $10, you must repay it in full.
The billing period covered by each statement may range from 28 to 33 days.
