How to open a Meridian account
To open a Meridian Online banking account,
Open the Meridian website home page.
Enter your Member number as your username in the field «Email, Member Number, or User ID.». The number is in the consolidated statement you received when you joined Meridian.
Enter your 8-digit temporary password. You were given it when you opened an account. The password is active within 24 hours, so if you don’t have it, call the Contact Centre at 1-866-592-2226.
Click the yellow «Sign In» button.
Review and read the Terms and conditions. Then, click on the «I Agree» button to confirm your acceptance.
Change your temporary password. Input it in the «Current Password» field. Create, enter and repeat the new password. Click the «Continue» button to save it.
Set up three security questions and answers by selecting them from the drop-down lists. Click the «Continue» button to go to the next step.
Add your email address as a sign-in ID, or skip this step by clicking the «Skip» button. Review your accounts at the «Account Summary» screen.
Activate two-step authentication. Select the yellow «Set up now» button or skip the step.
To set up two-step authentication, verify your phone number, fill it in the «Phone Number» field and select your way to receive the security code:by text message or a phone call. Next, select the blue «Get code» button.
Receive and enter the 6-digit code and press the «Continue» button.
Select your preferred notification method: «Text message (SMS)» or «Phone call,» and click the «Save» button below.
Receive a confirmation email.

To open an online banking account, you should be a Meridian member. To join Meridian, you usually should:
Be a Canadian resident
Be the age of majority in your province or territory
Have a valid email
Be ready to provide personal, contact, and income information.
