Gulf & Fraser is a financial cooperative established in 1940 in Burnaby, British Columbia as North Arm Credit Union. Through years of operation, Gulf & Fraser has undergone a series of mergers and expansions to become the sixth-largest credit union in the province.


Gulf & Fraser members are equal in their right to vote on policies and elect a Board of Directors.

With the Member Rewards Program, Gulf & Fraser members can earn reward points for their daily banking activities deposited into their Member Equity Shares account.

Gulf & Fraser regularly provides high school and post-secondary funding and supports community initiatives.

Gulf & Fraser is a credit union owned by its members. Each credit union member has equal membership and voting privileges and can influence the decision-making process.

Founded in 1940, Gulf & Fraser has been around for 82 years already. Gulf & Fraser has established the Credit Union Rules governed by the Credit Union Incorporation Act of British Columbia.

The credit union’s head office is at 101-7310 Kingsway Burnaby, BC, V3N 0G8.

How to become a Gulf & Fraser member?

You can apply for a Gulf & Fraser membership online by filling out an application form on the website. To become a credit union member, you must purchase at least five Class "A" Membership Equity Shares for $5.
