About CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite Card

A CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite Card is a credit card featuring a flexible travel rewards program, exclusive privileges from Visa, and valuable insurance coverages included.

New applicants can enjoy a one-time annual fee rebate and earn up to 35,000 Aventura points for meeting minimum spending requirements within a given period. 

CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite Card features

A CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite Card features a 20.99% purchase interest rate and 22.99% cash interest rate (21.99% for Quebec residents). 

To use all the benefits a CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite credit card provides, you will have to pay a $139 annual fee. You can issue up to 3 additional cards for authorized users, with a $50 yearly fee for each card. New applicants can rebate an annual primary and additional cards for the first year with a special offer.

New applicants to a CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite Card can get the advantage of the welcome offer and earn up to 35,000 welcome Aventura points — 20,000 points on the first purchase and 15,000 points upon spending $1,000 or more monthly within the first year. 

A CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite Card offers regular reward-earning opportunities along with a welcome offer. For travel purchases made with your CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite Card through CIBC Rewards Center, you can earn 2 Aventura points.

For purchases made with your CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite Card at merchants classified by Visa as “grocery stores,” “service stations or automated gas dispensers,” or “drugstores” up to $80,000 annual limit, you can earn 1.5 Aventura points for each $1 spent. After you reach the $6,000 yearly limit, you will earn rewards for purchases in these categories at a regular rate (1 Aventura point for $1 spent).

For every $1 spent on other eligible purchases, you will earn 1 Aventura point.

There is a range of redemption options for your Aventura points, including: 

  • Paying up to 100% of the cost of airfare and taxes and other charges on airfare purchased through the CIBC Rewards Center

  • Buying merchandise through the CIBC Rewards catalog of over 1,000 items

  • Making purchases with promo offers from Aventura

  • Participating in online auctions offering unique trips, events, and merchandise

  • Paying your credit card balance or contributing to select financial products

Occasionally, there are special offers for sending money abroad through CIBC Global Money Transfer™ in place. With such offers, you can earn Aventura points for making international money transfers. CIBC won’t charge you transaction fees on CIBC Global Money Transfers; only CIBC foreign exchange rates apply. In addition, CIBC won’t charge interest on a CIBC Global Money Transfer if you pay your balance by the due date.

Along with reward-earning opportunities, CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite Cardholders get access to the following benefits:

  • Saving up to $0.10 per liter on fuel purchases at participating Pioneer, Ultramar, and Chevron gas stations with Journie Rewards

  • Car rental discounts at participating locations

  • One NEXUS application fee rebate every four years

  • Aventura Travel Assistant services with no booking fees

In addition, a CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite Card provides access to a range of exclusive privileges from Visa, including:

  • Four complimentary VIP airport lounges visits per year from the Visa Airport Companion Program

  • Visa Infinite Concierge service providing assistance with travel bookings, restaurant recommendations, and other requests

  • Dining and Entertainment Benefits providing exclusive experiences, including access to the Visa Infinite Dining Series and the Visa Infinite Music Series

  • Hotel Benefits, including access to the Visa Infinite Luxury Hotel Collection

  • Sports Benefits providing exclusive sports experiences

With a CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite Card, you can pay off your purchases of $100 and more monthly installments at a lower interest rate with CIBC Pace It™ Installment Plans. Interest rates vary depending on a chosen plan:

  • 4.99% for a 6-month plan

  • 5.99% for a 12-month plan

  • 6.99% for a 24-month plan

To set up an installment plan of your choice, you must pay a one-time installment fee of 1.50% of the purchase amount. 

Insurance coverages included in a CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite Card card are out-of-province emergency travel medical insurance, flight delay and baggage insurance, trip cancellation and interruption insurance, auto rental collision and loss damage insurance, $100,000 common carrier accident insurance, purchase security, and extended warranty insurance, hotel burglary insurance, and mobile device insurance. In addition, if you want, you can add optional CIBC Payment Protector™ Insurance for Credit Cards, providing coverage of your credit card payments in case of disability, job loss, critical illness, or loss of life.

How to apply for a CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite Card

CIBC accepts online applications for a CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite Card. To proceed with an online application, hit the “Apply now” button on the credit card description page. Then, click “Yes, sign on now” if you are a CIBC client already and sign in with your CIBC Online or Mobile Banking login credentials. Otherwise, select “No, continue application” and fill out the application form with the following details:

  • Your first name

  • Your last name

  • Your date of birth

  • Your email

  • Your phone number

  • Your address 

  • Your living situation (rent, own/buying, live with parents, room or board, or other)

  • How long you have lived at the specified address

  • Your social insurance number

  • Your job category

  • Statement options

  • Your personal annual income

  • Your other household income (optional)

  • Your housing payments (monthly rent, mortgage, and condo fees)

Applying for CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite Card requires a minimum annual income of $60,000 or a minimum household income of $100,000.

How many Aventura points do I need to pay for a flight ticket?

Flights available through CIBC Rewards start from 10,000 Aventura points.

What are CIBC financial products eligible for payments or contributions using my Aventura Points?

You can use Aventura points earned with your CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite Card to make a payment or contribution for a range of CIBC products, including a residential mortgage, TFSA, RRSP, personal line of credit, personal loan, and Self-Directed CIBC Investor’s Edge brokerage account.
What are transaction alerts available with my CIBC Aventura® Visa Infinite Card?You can choose to receive transaction alerts either in real-time whenever a transaction occurs or upon reaching a certain dollar threshold.
