How can I change my password?

How to delete an account?

BMO doesn’t provide instructions on how to delete your online banking account. However, you can call the BMO customer service team at 1-888-226-7831 to request information on this matter.

How do I restore the forgotten password?

If you have specified your email and set up challenge/security questions when registering your BMO online banking account, you can restore the forgotten password when needed.

When signing in, click the “Forgot your password?” link and answer one of your challenge/security questions. The system will give you three tries to answer the first question. If you cannot answer the first question, you will have three attempts to answer the second one. If you have difficulties answering your challenge/security questions, call BMO at 1-888-226-7831 for further assistance.

After you manage to answer a security question, you will receive a temporary password by email. Meanwhile, the system will ask you to enter your email address to verify your identity. The temporary password will be valid for 4 hours. If you don’t manage to use it within 4 hours of signing in, you can repeat the process described above.

Once you sign in with your temporary password, you need to set up a new password.

Can I change my challenge/security questions later?

You can change your challenge/security questions at any time. To do this, log in to your BMO online banking account, go to the My Profile & eDocuments section, select Change my password, and proceed with changing your challenge/security questions.
